Project objectives
The overall aim of “ABCD In Food” is to strengthen resilience among indigenous communities through the protection and promotion of their diverse agricultural, biological, and cultural systems.
Specific Objectives:
- To conserve and promote indigenous traditional food sources, through documentation of IKSP on traditional agriculture and food system, conservation and propagation of traditional food and medicine sources, and food innovation.
- Indigenous Peoples rights on their agri-ecological and bio-cultural diversity (“ABCD”) assets are protected and promoted.
- To sustain Indigenous Peoples initiatives by capturing the community experience and facilitating learning exchanges.
Project components/ target outputs
- At least one Tagbanwa community, esp. its women and youth, broaden/deepen its indigenous knowledge systems and practices (IKSP) documentation on traditional agriculture and food system
- At least one Higaonon community, esp. its women and youth, document their IKSP on traditional agriculture and food system
- Seeds conservation and IP community-to-community exchanges
- Documentation and project knowledge management
