Valeree Nolasco
Biography
Valeree Nolasco is a dynamic and committed advocate for Indigenous peoples’ rights, with a longstanding presence in international climate change and biodiversity forums such as the UNFCCC, CBD, and New York Climate Week. Known for her integrity, effectiveness, and substantive expertise, she brings a unique blend of negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills to her work across government, civil society, and academia. A seasoned public policy and project management professional, Valeree has served in the Philippine Presidential Management Staff and contributed to national and international advocacy efforts focused on environmental policy and Indigenous peoples’ issues.
With over two decades of teaching experience, Valeree has also played a pivotal role in youth development and community empowerment. Her initiatives—ranging from her involvement with the Baguio Football Club to her environmental work with the Cordillera Green Network and Tebtebba Foundation—reflect her holistic approach to advocacy. Currently pursuing her PhD in Indigenous Studies at the University of the Philippines Baguio, she continues to bridge research, policy, and grassroots action. Valeree is especially recognized for her innovative efforts to integrate sports development with environmental and climate justice advocacy, empowering Indigenous youth and reinforcing the vital connection between cultural identity and ecological stewardship.
