Judith Pamela Pasimio
Biography
Judy Pasimio is a deeply committed feminist and activist whose work spans decades of unwavering advocacy for human rights, women’s rights, and indigenous peoples. As the Coordinator and co-founder of LILAK (Purple Action for Indigenous Women’s Rights), she has championed the leadership of indigenous women, amplifying their voices and connecting their struggles to broader movements for justice and equity. Judy plays a key role in regional and global platforms, including ReSisters Dialogue, a Southeast Asian network of women human rights defenders, and serves as Vice Chairperson of Alyansa Tigil Mina, where she leads efforts against destructive large-scale mining operations that displace communities and degrade the environment.
Judy’s advocacy journey began with the Legal Rights and Natural Resources Center (LRC), where she fought for indigenous peoples’ rights to self-determination and land. From 2007 to 2011, she served as Executive Director of LRC-KSK/Friends of the Earth Philippines, and contributed to regional advocacy through the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), especially its Task Force on Rural Indigenous Women. Now in her early 50s, Judy continues to be a powerful force for transformative change—mobilizing communities, building movements, and inspiring a new generation of feminist and indigenous leaders across the region.
